This tour covers the magnificent area of the Dutch polder landscape north of Amsterdam marked by windmills, dikes and ditches.

First you will be taken to Zaanse Schans where you will have the opportunity to visit a windmill and wooden shoe factory. Next stop is the world-famous village of Volendam with its typical green wooden houses and locals dressed in their traditional costumes. We will continue to the medieval town of Edam that is more than cheese. It´s a town with authentic 17th century architecture, the old streets and quiet canals.

Description

For this 8 hour tour, your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Amsterdam and drive you to the Hoge Veluwe National Park in the town of Otterlo located in the province of Gelderland. Once there, your guide will show you around the Kröller-Müller Museum, an art gallery founded by Helene Kröller-Müller the wife of a wealthy Dutch industrialist. First opened to the public in 1913 in The Hague, the collection was by donated by Kröller-Müller to the Dutch people in 1935. The museum at its current location first opened in 1938. Home to the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world, the museum in total contains 400 works of modernist artists including those by Picasso, Fernand Léger, Diego Rivera, George Seurat, Juan Gris, and Piet Mondrian.

After your trip to the museum, your driver will take you to the picturesque town of Giethoorn in the province of Overijssel. Founded by Mediterranean fugitives in 1230AD, the town is known as the “Venice of the North” because instead of main roads the village famously has only canals. Although bikes are used by locals, the only other way of getting around the city is by boat. Most houses are built on little islands connected to each other with high bridges. After some free time to explore the picturesque village on your own, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Amsterdam.

You'll be visiting the XtraCold Ice Cafe for app. 30 minutes. To embrace the cold, you'll also receive special thermal clothing including gloves before entering the Ice Cafe.

Inside the Ice Bar you will find 2 bars. First of all the lounge, where you can relax, sit down and enjoy a cocktail or something to eat while enjoying the good music. Every day one of your favorite winter characters will be there to meet and welcome you.
